"Error 1722...Firewall Delete Rule..." Occurs When Uninstalling "Accessdata Evidence Processing Engine"

Problem

An error "1722" is thrown when attempting to uninstall the "Accessdata Evidence Processing Engine". The error mentions a firewall rule.

Sample Error:

Error 1722. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor. Action Port 34908Close. location: c:\windows\system32\ command:netsh advfirewall firewall delete rule name="Accessdata Processing Engine Service" dir=in program="D:\Program Files\Accessdata\Evidence Processing Engine\10.17\ProcessingEngine.exe" localport=34098 protocol=tcp

Solution

Enable the "Windows Firewall" service and re-run the uninstall process.

Overview

The error is caused by a "Windows Firewall" rule that was created by the "Accessdata Evidence Processing Engine" installer. The firewall rule can only be removed if the "Windows Firewall" service is enabled.
