Question:

What is the purpose of the "Vocabulary Builder"?

Answer:

The "Vocabulary Builder" is necessary to enable fuzzy searching in Enterprise.

The Vocabulary Builder is first used to populate a table with vocabulary words from the Enterprise data. Then, the vocabulary table can be used to populate a snapshot file (the "Create Snapshot" command). Lastly, the snapshot file can then be used with fuzzy searching.

See attached pdf named "vocabbuilder.pdf" for further detail.

Note: The Vocabulary table and the fuzzy search snapshot are not required for standard search workflows (e.g. anytext, boolean, and field (database) searching).

I.e. Standard searches depend on MS-SQL server and are not dependent on fuzzy search structures. Standard searches should work, regardless if a vocabulary table or snapshot has been generated.
