How to Enable / Disable "Yellow Bar" Pop-up Messages in Web User Interface

Resolution

  1. Log on to system hosting "MAP" AccessData web application component.
  2. Open file: "C:\Program Files (x86)\AccessData\MAP\Web.config"
  3. Change
    <add key="DisplayApplicationError" value="true" />

    to

    <add key="DisplayApplicationError" value="false" />

Whether the pop-up messages are enabled or disabled, the messages they contain can still be found under Management -> "System Log"

Cause

Yellow bar pop-ups are enabled by default in Summation 4.x and ECA.  However in 5.x versions of Summation, LAB, and eDiscovery, they are disabled by default.

They are, at times, useful when attempting to diagnose web application related issues.
