CDMA stands for Code Division Multiple Access and is a cellular technology used for communication. CDMA is usually only used in the USA. CDMA phones typically do not use SIM cards, unless they are world phones (which rely on GSM technology outside of the USA). More information about CDMA can be obtained here.
