How can I move the Processing State PM folder?

  1. For FTK, confirm it is closed and nothing is processing.  For Summation, confirm it is not processing and stop all AccessData services.
  2. Open regedit.exe (as Administrator)
  3. Navigate to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\AccessData\Products\Evidence Processing Engine\10.12 key*
  4. Double-click the StateDirectory value
Note: If that value doesn't already exist, create it as a "String Value".
  5. Change the path in the "Value data" to the preferred location
  6. Reboot

* The EP version (10.12 in the example) will vary

This will allow you to re-locate your Processing State PM folder post-install.  It is important that this folder is in a location that will not run out of space while processing, or your processing jobs may hang, die, or result in case corruption.

This is outdated. 10.14 does not have this value, creating it doesn't work. There is a PROCESSINGSTATEDIRECTORY value in PStore\EvidenceProcessor but changing that doesn't work either. These are under the "Products" key.

Correction: Creating the value StateDirectory in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\AccessData\Products\Evidence Processing Engine\10.14 does work!

The value will only already exist if you chose to use the non-default State Folder location during EP/DPM installation. I created the value in "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\AccessData\Products\Evidence Processing Engine\10.14" and recycled services, and it appears to be working fine. Please open a ticket with Support if you continue to have issues with this.
