Web Server in a DMZ

Here is the list of requirements for adding a Summation/eDiscovery Web Server in a DMZ (i.e., putting the web server in a different subnet than the other Summation servers):

  • The DMZ server must be joined to the domain
  • Open the following ports to the domain:
  • Open the following ports to the internet:
    • 80 & 443 (Client device access)
  • Assign a public DNS hostname to the server (e.g. summation.acmecorp.com)
  • Apply a public certificate signed by a recognized third-party Certification Authority (CA) for the DNS hostname in the previous requirement.
